Thanks to a range of small accessories designed for the cable entry point, production systems can be easily adapted to take account of new tasks or new situations. Not only can the number of cables themselves change but cable diameters as well. To minimise the workload on housings and switchboard the use of extension or reduction fittings is recommended. An extension, for example, can be used to introduce the individual cores of thick cable into the housing with the outer cable insulation terminating in the cable gland. It goes without saying that the existing class of protection is maintained.
